Day Camp Maintenance Assistant

The Day Camp Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the safety and physical upkeep of the designated buildings and grounds, while maintaining a clean and neat appearance. Attention to detail, technical know-how, problem solving, and safety is key for this position. 

Responsibilities: 

• Ensure the buildings and grounds are kept in safe, clean and functioning order through use of technical skills and collaboration with other Facilities/camp staff and outside vendors 
• Duties may include light technical work 
• Duties may include cleaning of building facilities 
• Duties may include grounds related work such as mowing, moving equipment, setting up of outside venues, pest control and more 
• Act as the primary point of contact for resolving minor and day-today facilities/grounds-related issues for the Day Camp and related program areas, and seek assistance/elevate large projects as needed 
• Maintain an attitude of positive flexibility to meet the day camp program needs 
• Continually model Y Core Values 
• Support inventory and purchase ordering as needed 

Qualifications: 

• High School diploma or GED equivalent 
• Experience working in maintenance/custodial operations 
• Preferred demonstrated experience in one or more Trade area 
• Possess strong interpersonal skills 
• Adhere to mandatory trainings and timelines 
• Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work 

Position Specifics: 

• Camp season runs 06/24/24 through 08/23/24 and must be able to work most of the camp weeks 
• Pay range $13 - $15hr depending upon experience
