Pay: LCSW: $30-$35 per hour; LP/LMFT: $28-$33 per hour; exempt (salaried)
Location: Lafayette Colorado

Schedule: Full-time hours: 30 to 40 hrs/week, with benefits OR Part-time hours: 20 to 29 hrs/week, with benefits

Starting Pay:
LCSW: $30-$35 per hour

Purpose of Position:

Provides therapy services to clients with both developmental disabilities and mental health concerns.  Works in close association with an interdisciplinary team to ensure that the goals and objectives of each client are met.  Maintains quality of services and ensures services are provided in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Evaluates clients' physical and/or mental condition based on review of client information. Collects information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Counsels clients directly to help them develop insight into themselves and their relationships.  Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
  • Counsels clients and their families, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
  • Counsels caregivers and family members to assist in understanding, dealing with, and supporting the client.
  • Modifies treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in the clients' status.
  • Monitors the clients' use of medications
  • Provides crisis intervention expertise as necessary.
  • Prepares clients for transition out of therapy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
  • Refers clients, caregivers, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
  • Acts as a client advocate.
  • Works with appropriate staff regarding client scheduling, records maintenance and information management.
  • Coordinates and participates in care coordination meetings with multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborates with other team members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Notifies multidisciplinary team of client psychosocial issues affecting treatment.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Administers quality care in a considerate, respectful manner.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of counseling programs and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Remains knowledgeable on all current developments and trends as it relates to mental health therapy.
  • Ensures services are conducted in compliance with all rules and regulations.
  • Prepares and maintains all required treatment records and reports, including initial psychosocial assessments and ongoing visit notes.
  • This position may provide clinical supervision to an unlicensed therapist.

 

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

·       Solid knowledge of the developmental disabilities system in Colorado .

·       Expert knowledge of services and supports for the target population, including current issues, trends, and community resources.

·       Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others.

·       Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.

·       Effective and creative negotiator and problem solver.

·       Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet based databases, etc.

·       Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.

·       This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

          Training/Education:

·       Master’s Degree in social work (MSW) minimum from an accredited college or university.

·       Licensed or registered in Colorado , as required by state regulations.

          Experience:

·       At least three years experience working in the field of developmental disabilities required.

·       One year experience providing therapy to individuals with a dual diagnosis required.  

·       Experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other therapies which are effective in supporting individuals with dual diagnosis.
