New Jersey Resources is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer responsible for developing, analyzing and modifying reports and dashboard including testing, debugging and installing to support Power BI, Sql, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Synapse platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Power BI reports, data models and ETL jobs. Perform BI server configuration activities in accordance with application configuration standards and best practices. Work directly with the development team responsible for building analytical reports and dashboards and actively participate in overall design and testing using BI tools. Develop break fixes and enhancements following standards for development and testing. Responsibilities include working with business users to identify requirements, analysis of business requirements, create wireframes and data flows, systems interactions, higher-level project tracking & reporting and testing to verify solutions are built to user needs. 

Major Responsibilities
•    Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements, particularly in the areas of BI, analytics, and data warehousing
•    Design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions, including data warehousing, data integration, and reporting solutions
•    Ingest data from a wide variety of sources and preform ETL (Data Factory and IICS) to clean and process data for final consumption into Power BI
•    Work with business stakeholders to design and build visual reports and dashboards using modern Business Intelligence tools like Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Synapse
•    Works with a team to maintain and enhance the existing companywide BI Platform
•    Create and maintain the logical and physical data model for the Reporting and BI Platforms
•    Work with business users to continuously improve existing dashboards, reports and datasets
•    Understand business requirements and develop data models accordingly by taking care of the resources
•    Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability
•    Develop processes and procedures to migrate data from third-party systems to the primary BI environment
•    Design and develop Power BI datasets, dashboards, and reports including multiple visual reports, integrated dashboards and KPI scorecards 
•    Develop, publish and schedule Power BI reports as per the business requirements
•    Perform calculated measures on the existing data set 
•    Write queries, views, procedures using SQL server database

Position Specifications

•    BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent experience
•    4+ years of experience with Data Warehousing, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Synapse
•    3+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and T‐SQL
•    3+ years of experience working Power BI development and administration
•    2+ years of experience with API connections in data warehousing technologies – SOAP and REST
•    Power Query experience
•    Microsoft Azure certifications preferred
•    Ability to connect and interact from Power BI server to Microsoft azure components
•    Strong data warehousing process design, development, source control & performance tuning skills
•    Expert understanding of T-SQL, Data Factory, IICS, Power BI, and DAX is required. Strong working knowledge of SQL and OLAP databases, and data modeling
•    Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Understanding of both on-premise and a gateway
•    Need to be versed in security, setting up workspaces, creating data models, the cubes to support the data modeling, understand the limitations of the tool
•    Experience using APIs and API data transfer.
•    Experience in administration of Power BI report repository
•    Should have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis
•    Must have knowledge in connecting to data sources, importing data and transforming data for Power BI

Position is Hybrid, with 3 days onsite in Wall, NJ office, 2 days remote.
