Primarily responsible for sewing various types of samples and keeping their machine clean and in good mechanical running condition by notifying area management of any machine issues.

High School degree or equivalent; must have ability to perform computer functions and use scanning equipment; must be able to work in a repetitive manufacturing environment. Must have basic understanding of sewing machines. Sewing experience in a manufacturing environment is desired. Must be capable of reading, understanding, and following procedures.

• Operate sewing machine to produce quality samples of various types.
• Verify and maintain direction prior to sewing the samples.
• Verify edges are straight and corners are not rounded.
• Understand the various types of samples, such as stock, galleries, new product, and process them according to their unique specifications.
• Utilize computer system as needed to perform the job as it changes with new technology.
• Tag samples, following the tagging procedures, as needed.
• Operate the grommet machine when required.
• Apply lithos as needed per the work order label.
• Operate new equipment and or attachments, such as the string cutter or folder, as it is incorporated into the sample making process.
• Maintain production levels as defined for the sewing job.

The vision requirement is the ability to view at close and far distances, to identify and distinguish colors, to observe and area that can be seen up and down or left to right while eyes are fixed on a given point, to judge distances and spatial relationships and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

The environmental conditions are normal and the noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy.
