Nail Technician (PT Seasonal)

SUMMARY

Primarily responsible for providing and promoting quality nail services to GTRS guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Report to work 15 minutes before shift to prepare for guests.
• Check Spa Soft for schedule of guest’s services to be performed.
• Have familiarity with and be able to sell current stock of Nail products sold for retail.
• Provides guests with quality Manicures, Paraffin treatments, Pedicures,
• Promotes nail services and product sales at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.
• Covering all hours is determined by personal schedule.
• Maintenance and cleanliness of the Spa including spot cleaning, stocking shelves, and assist in other cleaning duties.
• Report all guest/member complaints or suggestions immediately to Spa Management.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all applicable job practices.
• Keep up to date on department correspondence.
• Continually update abilities through education and training.
• Maintain assigned station and equipment in working order.
• Know all pricing and service policies of Spa.
• Know the name, purpose, benefit, procedure and cost of every product sold in the Spa.
• Display confidence and professionalism at all times.
• Complete each service within the appropriate time frame.
• Completes necessary paperwork for each scheduled session.
• Voluntarily attends departmental meetings.
• Inventories nail service supplies as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of current manicure and pedicure techniques and styles.
• Refers guest problems or complaints to supervisor for problem resolution.
• Good rapport with fellow employees and reflect positive attitude.
• Complete all assignments requested of you.
• Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
• Maintain open line of communication with supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Must possess a Michigan State Cosmetology or Nail Technician license.
• Must possess one-year experience in the beauty industry, guest-service industry and training field.
• Must possess excellent communication, guest service and marketing skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• This position requires long periods of sitting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level in this environment is moderate.

COMMENTS

Native American Preference will apply.  Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug screen as a condition of employment.  Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked.  Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
